Start free, no credit cardHow to organize church caroling
A few things that make the night go smoothly.
Start the list early
Ask your pastor and small group leaders who would love a visit: shut-ins, new families, people who lost someone this year.
Call ahead
A quick call the week before means someone is home, and lets you ask about a favorite carol.
One driver per team
Make sure each team has at least one adult who can drive, and keep families with children together.
Keep visits short
Two or three carols and a short prayer, about 10 minutes, keeps the evening on time.
Frequently asked questions
Is this caroling planner really free?
Yes. Adding homes and carolers, making teams, choosing carols and printing team sheets and a songbook are free, with no account and no email.
Is my data stored or shared?
No. Your plan is saved only in this browser on this device. Nothing you enter is sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data or using a different device starts a fresh plan.
How many homes should each caroling team visit?
About 8 homes per team fits a two-hour evening, allowing around 10 minutes at each home plus driving. Fewer if homes are far apart or you are visiting care homes.
How are the teams made?
Homes with the same ZIP code (or postcode area) are kept on the same team, so each team stays in one area. Carolers with the same last name stay together, and someone who can drive is made team leader. You can move anyone by hand afterwards.
Does it include the words to the carols?
It includes a list of classic carols. Add the words once from your own hymnal or songbook and they print in every team’s songbook.
Can it find the fastest route?
The free planner opens each team’s stops in Google Maps in the order you set. ChurchAlpha (from $39/mo) works out the best order on real roads, with drive times, arrival times and a map.
