Growing Church Diversity Isn't Being Talked About From Pulpits

A Lifeway Research study of US Protestant pastors found that over the past decade, congregational diversity has increased—churchgoers are more likely to see someone of a different ethnicity in their pews. Yet simultaneously, pastors have grown less likely to address racial diversity or related issues from the pulpit.

This silence is a missed opportunity and, frankly, concerning. When your church becomes more diverse but leadership doesn't acknowledge it, celebrate it, or address related pastoral needs, you send a message that racial identity and cross-cultural community don't matter spiritually.
